Get that “Big Bottom” with the HIPPO Subwoofers When Massive Audio designed the “HIPPO” Series Subwoofers we had one thing we wanted out of the design. No junk for a trunk just a subwoofer with a “Big Bottom.” All three Hippo Series subwoofers 8”, 12” and 15” are truly giant works of art that can slam! These big bottomed boys use 3” over sized voice coils that hold 4000 Watts of power, extra deep diamond polished cast aluminum baskets, double stacked Strontium Magnets and Kevlar Fiber Reinforced Non-Pressed Paper Cones that has a industrial machined stitched edge right into the cone’s surround for added strength. To feed a 2013 HIPPO Massive Audio recommends 500 – 2000 RMS of raw power. You can cage a HIPPO in a sealed box as small as .375 cub. Ft for Hippo 8, 1 cub. Ft for the 12” and only 2 cub ft for the 15” or you can let them relax in a ported box for even more of that “Big Bottom ”. Massive Audio “HIPPO” Series is Big, Bad and Beautiful”.

What's the best box for a hippo 122 in a single cab pickup it's now in a 1sq cu box but I think there's more I can get out of the sub it's on a nano amp
The smallest box we reccomend would be 1.5ft3 and optimum would be 2.59ft3 (ported)
I have 3 15" hippos XL152 an I'm putting them in my 1988 Chevy caprice classic I'm thinking of going sealed box or should I go ported?
We always suggest a ported box with these subwoofers!
Will the d5k push two of the HIPPO122 - 4000w Dual 2 Ohm ? and what amp will handle the summoxl104 x2 of them and will either fit in a 2012 Malibu in a 14x14x14 mdf/birch box...>>> weighing my options...
The D5K will push around 3200 Watts at 1 Ohm so you may want to use the D8000.1 which is 4000 Watts RMS at 0.5 Ohm
The SummoXL104 x 2 should use the D5K to provide the 3000 Watts RMS needed (and then some)
How much does this 12 weigh?
The HIPPO122 weighs around 48 Pounds each.
