I have a mono amplifier of 1000w RMS X 1 ch @ 1 ohm, 600w RMS X 1 ch @ 2 ohm. This is enough to power with this speaker?
Hello Anskie , Yes, that is plenty of power for normal daily music.
Whats the difference between the HippoXL and the XLR model?
Hello Marciano, The difference is larger motor and stiffer suspension and more cooling to allow more a higher rms rating. Any questions let me know. Thank you.
What is the mounting depth on the xl84r model? Any suggestions for a truck box that would fit it?
Hello Marciano, The mounting depth is 5.4". As for a truck box, I would suggest one that is vehicle specific. How else can we help?
Thinking of running 3 HippoXL82R. 1) What would the optimal ported box volume and port dimensions be if they are all in shared space (Braced of coarse) ? 2) If wired in series/parallel (1.33 Ohms), would I put enough power to them for their combined RMS 1800. Or are they working as 1 therefore only need enough power for 1 sub ? can you suggest a amp wattage ?
Hello Joe, I would suggest giving the trio of HippoXL82R's roughly 1.75 cubes combined after displacement. Tune in the 34hz range with about 26 square inches of port area. For daily listening, that is plenty of power for all 3.
